Welcome to The Canopy.
I’ve always believed that leadership is about more than titles. It’s about how we show up for others, how we use our voices, and how we shape the systems around us. Storytelling is at the heart of that work. The stories we tell ourselves, the stories we tell others, and the courage to change the story when it no longer serves us.
The Canopy is the next evolution of my writing and my exploration of leadership, narrative, and impact. Some of you may have followed my earlier reflections in The Grove on a different platform; this new space builds on that foundation with greater intention. A canopy is expansive. It connects individual trees into a living network, offering both shelter and possibility. That’s how I think of this space, an interconnected hub where ideas, experiences, and perspectives come together to spark growth and change.
Here, I’ll explore the themes that have shaped my journey:
Leadership rooted in humanity. Because systems only change when leaders are willing to lead differently.
Storytelling as a tool for belonging and transformation. In my advisory and training work with Kingswood Forest, through Storyline by Kingswood, and across the stories on Why I Left, I return to the same truth: narrative is the thread that connects us.
Innovation and change. Particularly in healthcare, education, and the workforce, spaces where the future is being built every day.
Why start this now? Because we are living in a moment where leadership can feel transactional, where stories are often drowned out by noise, and where change is happening faster than our ability to process it. I want The Canopy to be a pause, a place to reflect, reframe, and reimagine what’s possible.
Some posts will be deeply personal. Others will draw from my professional work. All will be guided by a single mission: to drive positive change for a better tomorrow by positively impacting the human experience.
